Introduction of our company
Tigáz Zrt. is a universal natural gas distribution service provider in the North-East region of Hungary, operating on nearly one third of the territory of the country.
Tigáz Zrt. has its registered seat in Hajdúszoboszló, and is present in the area with natural gas trade units, managing of business clients (forming the East, North and West regions), and public service units (Call Center, customer services).
In terms of size it is the largest Hungarian gas supply company, providing better and better quality services to its consumers and having a major impact on the economy and employment.
Tigáz supplies gas in a more than 33,000 km long distribution network and connection pipes to 35.4% of the Hungarian residential and corporate customers.
By the end of the year 2008, the number of consumers reached 1.233 million of whom 1.187 are residential consumers, 76 000 are non-residential consumers (industrial, agricultural, communal, trade and other entities). The total consumption was approximately 2.853 billion cubic metres, more than 50% of which (1.6 billion cubic metres) were sold to the households.
The transfer of Tigáz shares from Italgas to Eni was completed in 2005 in the framework of an extensive gas sector restructuring project within the Eni group.
Once Tigáz Zrt. had received the required approvals from the Board of Directors, the Ministry of Economy and Transport and the Energy Office, Eni was entered into the company’s book of shares with 50% participation.
